Schools Strike 4 Climate, Australia’s largest youth climate organisation, announced a National Climate Strike on Nov 17. The last time they striked, they faced an uproarious backlash. “Against the law” politicians declared, while ScoMo pressed for “more learning schools and less activism.”
We teamed up with SS4C to create the Climate Doctor’s Certificate. A sick note signed by doctors of Climate Science and Activism who firmly disagree that our youth should be punished for protesting.
All students had to do was visit our website, enter their name and download a certificate. If their school absence was questioned? They’d present their Climate Doctor’s Certificate, and show that on Nov 17 the climate was more important than the classroom.
